This shuts down tons of major attackers in the current format including but not limited to:

Yeah, it does the trick to take down a lot of popular decks! Of course you could easily just say "Grill, play Pokemon that evolve, this article is really not needed," to which I would reply "Shut up, I worked hard on this"' Okay that's not really the reason. Not every deck can just throw in evolving Pokemon and not run into consistency issues. There's also ways to build decks to try and take it on specifically if there's a lot of Vileplume in your local meta. So we're here to show some of those options off! So what are we waiting for, let's get looking at some counters!

 Stop It Being Played

Vileplume can't stop you if it can't even get onto the field! Chimecho's attack allows you to do just that! Sure, it may take a while to whittle the opponent away 10 damage at a time... Okay this probably can't be your only attacker without a little luck, but it could certainly buy you time to set up anything else you may need. It's certainly an option worth considering as it's easily included in many decks!

Just Smash It!

Look this one is simple, but if you're not using Basic Pokemon to attack and you can do some serious damage, there's no way that Vileplume is going to stand in your way! Aeordactyl can snag a one hit knock out easily. With a little setup, Tool Drop decks can OHKO anything in the format. Add a Fire Memory to Silvally-GX and it will scorch Vileplume.  Of course you can simply just use a Zoroark-GX deck as well to try and take them on, or any other deck with evolving Pokemon like Weavile BUS 86, but it does feel good wiping the opponent out in one fell swoop!

Outstall The Stall

Sylveon-GX decks have been seeing some use again in tournaments as we discussed in our State of the Meta article. As it isn't a Basic Pokemon, you can still use your tricks to take the opponent down! Of course Wall & Stall dittos aren't the most fun matches to play, but it's still a possibility. 

Stop The Stall

Most stall decks try to use Unown LOT 91 as their end goal to win the game. So how about you just decimate that as an option with no effort? With Ditto Prism Star it's easy to keep a Persian in your deck just in case. The attack we need takes a Colorless Energy so again, it can fit into any deck. Watch the opponent build up to having a massive hand size and right before they win, switch in this Persian, attack with Make 'Em Pay, and watch the opponent lose in a single instant. Of course you could also use Purugly UPR 109 but Persian is FAR more convenient and does the trick nicely.
