Budget Blast: Web of Disruption ($20)

Galvantula TEU 48Welcome back to Budget Blast where we show you decks that pack a punch without breaking your budget! Who doesn't like a strong disruption deck? To be fair, that answer is anyone playing against it. One of the toughest problems disruption decks face however is they all have limited resources. Eventually all of your Enhanced Hammer, Crushing Hammer, Plumeria and the like are going to end up in the discard pile.

With Team Up however, came the possibility to avoid this perilous fate. Galvantula came with its wonderful attack Spider Thread

[L] Spider Thread: 40
Put a card from your discard pile into your hand.

That's not all! To make it even more of a pesky menace, it was given the ability Unnerve which can help it easily shrug off cards set to take it down.

AbilityUnnerve
Whenever your opponent plays an Item or Supporter card from their hand, prevent all effects of that card done to this Pokémon.

With so much potential and costing so little currently on the market, what's not to love about Galvantula? Let's take a look at the deck to see all the other moving parts that make it pack that punch!

Ribombee BUS 96Let's make this fast and list all of the fun cards this deck has to make your opponent's day just that much worse playing against you. Crushing Hammer, Enhanced Hammer, Judge, Plumeria, and Team Skull Grunt. All of these are going to make it a major pain for your opponent to attach energy so they can attack. Galvantula isn't the only card that can recycle things however! Mt. Coronet can drag up some Metal Energy from the discard pile as well. This creates perfect fuel for Plumeria so no matter what you can consistently disarm your opponent.

There's also a budget-friendly Pokemon to help bring whatever energy you need into your hand at your whim: Ribombee! With its ability Honey Gather, it's easy to take either the Lightning Energy for Galvantula's attack or the Metal Energy to discard whenever you may need. There's also Volkner which can help search for any energy you need as well as grab an item card you may want to use or recycle. With Electropower and Electrocharger easily within reach, it can be easy to make Galvantula's paltry 40 damage become something the opponent has to worry about.

Beef Up This Deck: The best way to beef up this deck if you have extra cards lying around would be through stronger draw power like Cynthia and Erika's Hospitality alongside Guzma. The potential for more disruption through stronger draws can allow you to play less disruption cards, especially since you have the ability to recycle them as needed. If you add in stronger draw power, play around with the numbers for the other cards you play to see what works best.

Weaknesses: We have to be honest, Galvantula has low HP. So does the Ribombee we use to give it extra support. You're taking away the opponent's ability to attack the best you can, but neither Pokemon is going to stand up to many attacks if you can't. Decks that aren't as dependent on energy use like other Stall and Wall decks, as well as decks like Gold Rush, could also run through this deck.
