Budget Blast: Revolving Fangs ($10)

Sharpedo UNB 111Welcome back to Budget Blast where we show off decks that pack a punch without breaking your budget! Sometimes your budget is very tight and all you've got is a ten dollar bill to spend. Thankfully we've got you covered! Plus the main attacker for this deck is Sharpedo, who doesn't love Sharpedo? Let's take a look at the attack you'll be using, Bad Fangs:

[C][C][C] Bad Fangs: 60+
This attack does 20 more damage times the amount of [D] Energy attached to this Pokémon.

There's not a lot of tools to currently accelerate Darkness Energy, luckily Sharpedo comes with one built in! Let's also look at its ability Greedy Evolution:

AbilityGreedy Evolution
When you play this Pokémon from your hand to evolve 1 of your Pokémon during your turn, you may look at the top 6 cards of your deck and attach any number of [D] Energy cards you find there to this Pokémon. Shuffle the other cards back into your deck.

So how can we keep the Energy you pull out on the field? How can we get massive numbers of them attached to Sharpedo? Let's check out the deck to see how we get it all done!

Devolution Spray Z UNB 166Every time that Sharpedo evolves it has a chance to bring out more Energy. So why not give it potentially several attempts to evolve? With Devolution Spray Z it's not too difficult to make it happen! You can use it to get Sharpedo on the bench stronger while another Sharpedo is attacking. Once it gets back into the deck you need a way to get it back out quickly. Great Ball, Timer Ball, and Apricorn Maker helps make this easy.

To get you even more uses of Devolution Spray Z we have Herdier SUM 104! Its ability Treasure Hunt can bring it, or any other Item card you may need, right back to your hand. It can also grab you Energy Recycler in case you lose your Energy and need to use it more than once. It's also great for making sure Wishful Baton is out on your active Sharpedo. You need to keep as many Energy out as possible, and Wishful Baton is one of the best tools in doing so.

Beef Up This Deck: If you have a few cards already in your collection there are many ways to power up this deck further! Shrine of Punishment is great as you lack any GX cards in your deck. You can increase your draw power with the likes of Cynthia or Erika's Hospitality as well. Finally Guzma is great in any deck, so if you have some to work in go for it!

Weaknesses: Your main attacker, Sharpedo, doesn't exactly have a lot of HP. It is nice that it has 110 HP over a flat 100 as it does make it harder to kill, but most big hitters will demolish this with ease. This deck also is incredibly combo dependent. If you can't manage to get Sharpedo out and a few evolving repeatedly on the bench, you may have a hard time swinging for maximum damage. Still, it can be very fun once it gets rolling!

We hope you enjoyed this edition of Budget Blast! Now it's time to hear what you think. Did you find success with this deck? Think there are some options to make it stronger? Tell us in the comments or let the deck builder herself know over on Twitter @LiteralGrill. Until next time, stay lit trainers!
