Budget Blast: Abilgity ($22)

Welcome to Budget Blast where we show you decks that pack a punch without breaking your budget! This is the next deck we'll be showing off for Fire Week, a week based on showing off different ways to play the powerful fire-based tools in the format. Welder, Heat Factory Prism Star, Giant Hearth, Fiery Flint, there's just so many fantastic cards out there for Fire types right now. This deck has a name that's pretty hard to pronounce but that's because it's pretty hard to play around. Let's take a look at Abilgity!

Live By The Coin
Rapidash TEU 18Mareep LOT 75Slumbering Forest UNM 207

Hopefully, you've been practicing your coin flips because this deck loves them! Mareep and Slumbering Forest can be a huge pain for opponents either way but what if we could make things a bit harder? With Agility you're only a single flip of heads away from not taking any damage that turn! Welder can charge up the attack with a single-use making it perfect for the deck. Barring something like Custom Catcher or course. Switching them in and out to keep the sleep going with U-Turn Board or Escape Board (just in case the opponent can put you to sleep as well). If you have a good time with the flip, you're going to have an awesome time while your opponent is miserable!

Let's Set Up

Emolga TEU 46Bill's Analysis HIF 51Pokemon Fan Club UPR 133

This deck heavily uses Emolga and its ability Nuzzly Gathering combined with Pokemon Communication to help grab the pieces you need. You can still use Pokemon Fan Club as well but it's not as necessary if you get a solid bench going. It's easy to search out these cards and your other needed tools thanks to Bill's Analysis. We have to say if you were daring, Friend Ball could be a really fun tech for this deck with so many Lightning and Fire decks roaming in the current format. Just something to consider!

Adventure Bag can be fantastic, especially if you can grab it early. We only have one Professor Elm's Lecture as it can be wonderful at times but very useless at others as it can't grab Ponyta. Finally, we do include a couple of PokeNav for extra Pokemon search as well as a little help grabbing Energy, as this deck lacks Giant Hearth

Weaknesses
Ninetales TEU 16Victini GRI 10Stealthy Hood UNB 186

A big thing this deck doesn't want to see is Rapidash being pulled out of the active by something like Custom Catcher or Ninetales to end up avoiding Agility all together. Of course, this deck does include a lot of coin flips and without 'Fliptini' in the format to help, it makes things a lot harder if you have a bit of bad luck. Finally, Stealthy Hood is gaining popularity as of late and with it attached your Mareep, she won't be putting the opponent to sleep reducing your chances of survival drastically.

We hope you enjoyed the first deck in our week-long fiery celebration! We'd love to hear what you think, especially if you tried out the deck. Tell us all your thoughts in the comments below or let the deck builder herself know over on Twitter @LiteralGrill. Until next time, stay lit trainers!
